Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 409

Sunday, May 28, 2017

Hello there, lovelies!
It's Sunday again and that means Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
Unfortunately, we do not have a sponsor this week BUT don't worry! Debbie has a prize for you so make sure you link up your creation!

We have this pretty color combo for you this week!
Aren't these cupcakes just adorable!?
I was totally inspired by this cute kids themed picture...;-)

These delicate pastel colors led me to this baby stamp set that I just got from Pink Fresh Studio ;-) I apologize for my dark photo, this was the only way the sentiment can be visible...ish...😣

"twinkle twinkle little star..." was heat embossed in white and again with clear embossing powder on my sponged watercolor paper. The star with the tiny star trail image was also heat embossed with white, then colored in with yellow so it didn't disappear in the background. The cloud with the tiny stars image was heat embossed with Pool Party embossing powder. This adorable moon with his night cap was stamped with Antique Linen Distressed Ink and very lightly wartercolored. Can you see that the moon is colored with blue? Ugh! I wish I was a better photographer!

With the star stencil, I added some stars with embossing paste, I just love how the paste adds a different texture and changes the whole look of cards!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
And again, I'm sorry for my awful photos this week!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

Hello lovelies!
I hope you are having nice weather!
Today I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with a fun, summery card!
Here it goes...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Hibiscus Purr-fect Die Set - Naki Rager

I decided to make this beachy card because I have been missing beaches lately!

Newton's Nook Designs Hibiscus Purr-fect Die Set - Naki Rager

And I simply wanted to use this beautiful Hibiscus Purr-fect Die set ;-)
I die cut the flower from watercolor paper then water colored. I splatter a lot of water to make it look like there is dew on it.

Newton's Nook Designs Hibiscus Purr-fect Die Set - Naki Rager

The background was water colored with Tempting Turquoise ink, and yellow ink with lots of water was splattered, then more splatters with just water. I used the wave stencil and lightly applied embossing paste so it looks like an ocean. The ocean panel was mounted on this patterned paper that has schools of fish, and my fun pineapple and striped washi tapes were added on;-) I can almost smell the salty air!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Inky Paws Challenge 47

Monday, May 15, 2017

Hello lovelies!
I hope you enjoyed the May Release last week!
The new Inky Paws Challenge is starting today, and we have beautiful colors for you to play!

Ooooh!
Such pretty colors, aren't they!!!?
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Tranquil Tides Set - Naki Rager

These bright colors made me think of summer (can't wait!), and summer means beaches, beaches mean ocean! I knew I had to use the Tranquil Tides set for this challenge! I heat embossed the branch coral in Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, and Blushing Bride Emboss Powder on Neenah White Cardstock then die cut with the coordinating die. I didn't have to look far for this patterned paper either, isn't it just perfect! The cute little sentiment with a little fish and bubbles were heat embossed with the Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder on Crumb Cake.

I die cut the oval out in my front panel to make a window, wrapped the Linen Twine around on the top then added my tag with the sentiment. I was done there but it looked pretty plain so I stamped the cluster of tiny bubbles, but I didn't like it {LOL} so I needed a quick fix! I added several teal sequins and clear droplets, it helped, but needed something else... I stamped this cute little crab in Calypso Coral Ink and die cut, and placed him in the corner like he is coming over to look out the window!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to seeing your beautiful cards linked up to the Inky Paws Challenge Blog

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 407

Sunday, May 14, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
Happy Mother's Day!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Poppy Stamps! Fabulous!
They're generously giving one lucky winner a $20 gift certificate so make sure you link up your card over at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog!

What a perfect theme for today!
Here is my take...;-)

I wanted to use the only set from Poppy Stamps I own, which is the Falling For You set. It is a fall/thanksgiving themed set but who says you can't use this adorable critter for mother's day!? or any other occasions for that matter ;-)

I stamped this cutie with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper, colored him with light brown and dark brown Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and the Antique Linen Distressed Ink. Also used the pale pink Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker for his blushed cheek ;-) I die cut him with the coordinating die ;-) I'm too lazy to fussy cut so dies are a MUST! {LOL}

The background was sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding, splattered some water for a distressed look, and drew a little bit of grass where my cutie is standing. I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with the Strawberry Slash ink, splattered some water, then die cut them with the heart dies from the XOXO Die set by Papertrey Ink. I heat embossed "love you" on the big heart, "mama" from the Simply Relative set by Newton's Nook Designs on vellum and trimmed it to a tiny banner and popped it on the heart. Several 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were sprinkled, and the gold dot washi tape was placed on the base.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a lovely Mother's Day!!!

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I was immediately reminded of the movie "Roman Holiday", you know that famous scene where princess Ann rides the Vespa around Rome!

All the images were stamped and colored with Smoky Slate ink on watercolor paper.
I absolutely LOVE how they look!!!

I placed all these Italy's famous buildings behind my kitty like how old movies have buildings floating behind an actor walking or driving! {giggle}
That fun sentiment and a little heart were heat embossed in white on a thin strip of black cardstock. I also had all these fun washi tape and patterned paper for the background!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release Day 2 - Newton Dreams of Italy Set

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Hello lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 12th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2, and we are revealing the Newton Dreams of Italy set along with the coordinating die set!

Look at this kitty! Newton goes to Italy this time!
I am honestly jealous of Newton!
Alright, here goes my take ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of Italy Set - Naki Rager

Oh my goodness!
Isn't he just so stinkin' cute!!? {heart}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of Italy Set - Naki Rager

This cutie was stamped with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper, watercolored, then die cut with the coordinating die. I decided to make this kitty a Siamese because, well, doesn't he look like he has a big beard!!? {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of Italy Set - Naki Rager

I watercolored the bottom half of the circle panel with Bermuda Bay ink, the other half with Soft Sky. I also watercolored scrap with Bermuda bay then tore it with hands. The circle panel was placed where the opening is on the Neenah White Cardstock panel, the other water piece was adhered onto the back of the front panel before it was mounted on with foam tape. My kitty on the gondola was also popped on with foam tape between the 2 river pieces. The sentiment and a little heart were heat embossed with white on Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I stamped the same heart again on white cardstock and colored it in the Italian flag colors with Spectrum Noir Markers, fussy cut then glued it on top of the heat embossed heart.

Well, how could I NOT make another card with this adorable set!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of Italy Set - Naki Rager

Who doesn't like a bowl of spaghetti with tomato sauce!?
I have a feeling there were meatballs too but this adorable kitty ate them before you could even see them...{LOL} He was heat embossed in tan, watercolored, then die cut with the coordinating die. The glass of wine, bottle of wine, and glass jar of olive oil (SO pretty!) were heat embossed in white, watercolored, then also die cut with the coordinating dies.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Dreams of Italy Set - Naki Rager

I die cut the biggest heart from the Daling Hearts Purr-fect Die Set from some scrap and used it as a stencil. The big heart was watercolored then the sentiment was heat embossed.  I also borrowed that pretty vine from the Love Grows set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs May Release Day 1 - Winston's Tee Time Set

Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
Welcome to the first day of the Newton's Nook Designs May Release! Woot!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 12th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today, we are revealing this super adorable set "Winston's Tee Time" along with the coordinating die set!

Ohhhhhhh my goodness!!!
Isn't he absolutely adorable!!?
I think Winston looks pretty handsome in his golf outfit!
Alright, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's Tee Time Set - Naki Rager

My dad used to play and watch golf when I was growing up, and because we only had one TV set, I used to watch golf tournaments with him all the time! It wasn't exciting like watching baseball games, but I LOVE the sound of the golf ball hitting the hole! Plus, the commentators usually spoke so softly, it was calming...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's Tee Time Set - Naki Rager

have you ever watched the Canadian TV series Murdoch Mysteries? Awesome show!
When I saw this Winston, it reminded me of the episode where detective Murdoch tried golf for the very first time (and he wasn't very good and threw his clubs in the pond at the end...lol). The show is staged around the year 1900 and they were using wooden clubs, so I gave Winston a wooden club as well! but I colored his outfit with modern, bright colors! I think that blue looks so good on him, don't you!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's Tee Time Set - Naki Rager

Golf courses are always so well trimmed and beautiful, aren't they!? The grass is so green just like on my card! I also gave him a beautiful water colored blue sky with royal blue sequins, which matches his shirt! I combined 2 of the sentiments from the set to create this one "you're tee-riffic!", so cute!

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's Tee Time Set - Naki Rager

I made another card with this set! Super CAS!

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's Tee Time Set - Naki Rager

I die cut my background with the Land Borders Purr-fect Die to separate the sky and lawn. The whole panel was water colored with Bermuda Bay, but the grass part was mixed with yellow. The pin image was stamped, water colored, then die cut with the coordinating die, then just a flag part was die cut from a patterned paper and paper pieced. The little golf ball was stamped and die cut, then popped on by the pin. "a hole in one" was heat embossed with black directly on the lawn, "DAD" was heat embossed with white on black cardstock, trimmed to a little rectangle then popped on with a piece of foam tape.

Inky Paws Challenge 46

Monday, May 1, 2017

Hello, Newton lovers!
The new Inky Paws Challenge starts today, and I am playing along!
This challenge is not only fun to play, but there is also prize(s) so don't forget to link up your NND card!

We have this fabulous sketch for you!
If you're a long time follower (thank you!), you know that sketches are my weakness! Thank goodness Jen is so very good with them!
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Garden Set - Naki Rager

This sketch sent me a rustic vibe, and I LOVE rustic!

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Garden Set - Naki Rager

This beautiful sunflower is from the Flower Garden set!
As usual, I stamped the image with Antique Linen Distressed Ink then water colored. I used the coordinating "Garden Window" die set on my sunflower panel, one of my scraps, and finally the black and white striped patterned paper. I wrapped it with some yellow baker's Twine. Doesn't the sunflower really pop against black and white!?

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Garden Set - Naki Rager

This lovely sentiment "Hello Sunshine" is also from the Flower Garden set, I stamped it over and over on my kraft cardstock then distressed all the edges. I love that patterned paper from Crate Paper Flea Market patterned paper pad, it was just perfect for this card! I added some washi tape to my base and sewed the kraft panel onto them.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope to see your awesome creation over at the Inky Paws Challenge Blog, too!
